GREAT SUCCESS AT 2009 AUS CUP
Well done to the whole team that made the trip to Adelaide. There were many great success stories, however Michael Wilson's performance was a stand out. Mick won 4 Gold submitting all of his opponents. Well done Mick! It was interesting to find out that even with a very small team, had it been a Team's Event, we would not only have taken first place but nearly tripled the second place team. You have all made me very proud once again guys and girls. Thank you Pete
TEAM de BEEN BECOMMING AN INTERNATIONAL FORCE
More great news on the International front. A small team including Michael Wilson, Tom Katzmarek, Chris Rhode, Ange Parisi and James Tomlinson competed in the 2009 Rio International and the World Masters in Brazil in July. The collection of medals included: Michael Wilson - Bronze (Rio International), Bronze (World Masters) Tom Katzmarek - Gold (World Masters)
James Tomlinson - Gold (Rio International) Chris Rhode - Gold (Rio International) Ange Parisi - Bronze (Rio International) What a result? Congratulations guys well done!
New Black Belt
It is with great pleasure that we announce the grading of Black Belt to Chris Derksen. Chris joined us from another academy four and a half years ago as a brown belt. To his credit, on day one, he asked that he be demoted to a purple belt as this was more like his level. Chris worked tirelessly from that point learning Jiu Jitsu. After two years he achieved his Brown Belt and now after a further two and half years he has earned his Black Belt. Chris has put an enormous amount of himself into his training and to everyone who doubted him! - well you know! Congratulations Chris you have achieved the ultimate in this country. 2009 AUS CUP TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
