Hi everyone, due to double booking of the arena sat no gi class on 8may is at st kilda 1030 to 1230 address is 179 barkly st. The regular class is at 12 so you can mix it up with the st kilda crew from then or if your running late or for whatever reason you can train with them till probably around 2pm. By the way anyone from the arena is  welcome to train at st kilda on their off days to roll with different or higher level guys every now and then for some perspective.

Hi everyone, by popular demand we will begin a saturday no-gi class.Class times will be 1030am-1230pm. Classes will be a bit more relaxed so we can use the time to free train more and ask more questions. We will be covering takedowns, an often neglected part of bjj, but this is still bjj so nobody will be suplexing anyone. If you want to bring your gi do so, its totally up to you. For now i just want as many of you to come down as possible and check out the new class. The fee structure has changed and will now be $105 per month for unlimited sessions the other option is to buy a block of 10 classes for $200 and have your card stamped as you go. Current members will be notified by The Arena about the changes as they will be handling the admin side of things from now on.  

By the way, im having a great time teaching everyone and i hope im doing a good job for you guys and girls. Dont be afraid to ask heaps of questions this year, lets make it a great one.

Hi all

As many of you are no doubt aware I will be having some relatively major surgery in about a week to have my left hip replaced.  I will then be having the other one done hopefully at Easter 2010.  As a consequence and due to the amount of time I will have to take off I have decided to hand over the club to Dave Kemp from St. Kilda and cease teaching at the Arena on a permanent basis.

Dave is an awesome fighter and a great instructor, luckily, he is also a great fella and Arena Jiu Jitsu is in great hands.  I have no doubt that the club will go from strength to strength in the years to come.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of the students who have rolled on the mats over the years, especially those that stayed loyal through thick and thin.  It has been great fun and I will miss you guys (and girls!), however, I have my family to look forward to. I still intend to train but not for a little while.  My health has to come first!
