Kimekai KO

Under the supervision of Ed Bavelock (former US Kickboxing Champion) and Marco Mazzanti (10 times National Karate Champion), a new MMA program is available at Chelsea Heights, Highett and soon to begin at Cranbourne.

An alternative to traditional martial arts, Kimekai KO, combines all forms of combat, including Brasilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai and Wrestling, to produce outstanding results. The ultimate fighting system tailored to the stregths of individual fighters, combining the latest fitness/conditioning methods with the most up to date an effective fighting strategies.

Kimekai KO Team in action

Several fighters from the Kimekai KO Team will be competing in July. On July 15th, Dave Slater will be making his MMA fighting debut at 75 Kg, Wayne Ronaldson is back, after an impressive win in 2006, he will be fighting at 85 Kg. Dave and Wayne will be fighting at the QBH in the city (near Crown Casino). On Sunday 22nd of July at the Macedonian Club in Sunshine, also making his first appearance will be Bart Hurley fighting MMA at 80 Kg.

The Kimekai KO Team is eager to develop a fighting team second to none in all combat arena. Earlier in the year, at the Victorian BJJ Championships the Kimekai KO Team won 4 gold, 1 Silver and 3 Bronze. Go Team.

Dave Slater replaced Bart due to injury on the Sunshine Fight Night. In his debut Dave displayed great BJJ technique controlling the ground after being taken down by a skilled Sambo man Pat Northey. Dave showed the hard work done since early in the year on fitness brought him home with a victory via a well placed left thai kick early in the 3rd round.

Dave would like to recognise the teaching knowledge Peter de Been shares with us all has given him the opportunity to bring the Gracie technique to the MMA ring. Dave credits the BJJ technique Peter brought back to Oz from Brasil gave him the edge & continues forward in many arenas.
