RESULTS AND RANKINGS AT GRACIE PETER DE BEEN JIU JITSU ACADEMYS PETER de BEEN'S COMPETITION RESULTS PETER'S BLACK BELTS PETER'S BROWN BELTS PETER'S PURPLE BELTS PETER'S BLUE BELTS ADULT WEIGHT CATEGORIES The Gracie-De Been competition team remains undefeated in local Jiu Jitsu competition since tournaments began in 1995. The Australian Federation of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu (AFBJJ) was founded in 1994 and has followed the ethos and official rules of the International Federation of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu, the same organisation which oversees the Mundial (World Championship), and Pan American titles. It was established to guarantee the authenticity of the teaching of the art of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu in Australia. Each year the Federation sanctions tournaments, including the Pan-Pacific Championships, and ensures that they are run in strict accordance with International Federation guidelines. In 2005 the AFBJJ plans to launch a new National Jiu Jitsu Championship. Since 2002, the Pan-Pacs has had the status as a qualifying event for the Mundial (World Championships) and Brasilieros (Brazilian National Championships), making it a highly significant event for both Australian and International competitors. Peter de Been is the President of the Australian Federation of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu. In 2005 the AFBJJ launched the Australian Champions Cup, a qualifying event through the State Championships. 2005 saw Brisbane become the first host City and Sydney the host in 2006.
